Programme Manager

PACT Radio is appointing a Programme Manager. The Programme Manager will be based in Kabul, at the Unani Tibbiya College
which has been established as a department of the Islamic Vocational Academy. His main objectives will be to enable both Da Saba Storay Radio and the Islamic Vocational Academy to be economically independent and viable
entities by the middle of April 2012.

The Programme Manager should have a good grasp and believe in the aims and objectives of PACT Radio media and educational projects. He or she should have a good track record in marketing and liaising with international and national organizations and will be expected to be fluent in English, Pashto and Dari. In particular, the programme manager’s tasks will include:

1. To ensure that financial systems, book-keeping, monthly requests and financial reports, quarterly financial reports, are operating smoothly, in Mahad'ad-Dawa/Da Saba Storay and in the Unani Tibbiya College.

2. To work with the Academic Deputy Head of Mahad'ad-Dawa to develop the Fund-Raising and Awareness-Raising group of the Islamic Vocational Academy as an effective instrument for raising moral and financial support for the Academy within Afghanistan.

3. To fine-tune and to take a lead in developing and implementing Da Saba Storay Radio marketing strategy, building on the main asset of Da Saba Storay Radio - its programmes - to increase popularity and marketing potential of the radio station.

4. In particular, to work with the Head of PACT Radio, the Station Manager of Da Saba Storay Radio and the Grants Liaison Officer of PACT Radio to develop storyline sponsorship proposals for the PACT Radio soap opera, programme sponsorship proposals for Da Saba Storay programmes, developing commercial potential of the radio station, attracting investment, securing training contracts and building up other sources of income for Da Saba Storay Radio.

5. To work with the management of Da Saba Storay Radio and the Islamic Vocational Academy to increase dynamic co-operation between the two organizations, with the Islamic Vocational Academy serving as a source of marketing and broadcasting personnel for Da Saba Storay Radio, and Da Saba Storay Radio being a vehicle for publicity and fund-raising on behalf of Mahad'ad-Dawa.

6. To work to secure licenses, registration and complete other such like official formalities, in order to ensure smooth and economical functioning of PACT Radio.
